Glendale Enamel Market show will feature 17 local pin artists
This Saturday is the first-ever Enamel Market Show–an shopping event that will feature pins, patches and vinyl art toys.
Kai Cao, the event’s founder decided to organize the event when he noticed that the Glendale and Burbank areas in Southern California didn’t have many pin-related happenings.
“I’ve seen a growing trend of artist’s making enamel pins and (have) seen many other events showcasing enamel pin makers. So I say—why not here?”
The 32-year old Covina resident hopes this weekend’s show will be the beginning of many more.
“Since it’s our very first event, I’m not 100% sure yet what our goal will eventually be—but I would like to do it as a regular thing going forward,” he said.
Enamel Market is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the toy and collectibles store 3D Retro, 1851 Victory Blvd., in Glendale.
The show will include 17 enamel pin artists, including: BB-cre.8, Nostalgia Vault, Geeky and Kinky Pins, Jesse JFR, Vuduberi, Spooksieboo, Coolectric Creations, Midnight Dogs, Flat Bonnie, David Baker, Love April Moon, Other World Shop, T.C. (T_Crux), Monster Posse, 1980Who, Special Ed Toys and Save The Panduhs.
There will be a Johnny Cupcakes pop-up store at the event and The Waffle Oh Truck will be parked outside.
The first 100 attendees through the door receive a free limited edition, 1.5” Enamel Market pin by Pirate Robot.
“Aside from dropping exclusives from pin makers and artists vending the show, I will also be giving away free pins to attendees,” Cao said.
There will be some parking available in the 3D retro lot.
