A Weekend of Pin Events
It’s Labor Day weekend– the last long weekend of the summer! If heading to the pool, camping or having a cookout just isn’t in the cards for you this weekend, why not go for something a little more non-traditional? There are loads of pin-related events for you to check out.
About: Last month, the denim-focused clothing retailer Madewell opened the Madewell Commons in Austin—an event space for local culture happenings like workshops, live music and markets featuring local artisans. Friday a number of brands will be hosting a pop-up at the location.

626 Night Market
Orange County, California
About: The largest, original night market in the country. This market includes an art walk, games, live entertainment, crafts, and tons of food vendors. This is the last 626 Night Market event of the year.
When: Friday & Saturday 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Sunday 4 p.m. to Midnight
Where: Santa Anita Park, 285 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, CA 91007
Details: Admission is $5 at the door, cash only. Children 3 and under are free. Parking is free. Most vendors accept cash only and ATMs are available.
Santa Anita Park does not allow pets with the exception of service animals – it is up to their discretion at the gate to allow your furry friends in.

About: A four-day Anime, Manga and Japanese Pop Culture Convention in Phoenix organized by Monkey Paw Entertainment. “Saboten” is the Japanese word for Cactus, a play on the convention’s roots in Arizona.
When: Friday Noon – 8 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and Monday 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Patch At ‘Em
Poughkeepsie, New York
About: The Hudson Valley’s celebration of punk and DIY fashion. This indoor flea market will feature patches, enamel pins and other artists.
When: Noon-5 p.m., Monday

Details: From crafty to crusty, come celebrate crafting, patch and DIY culture. Whether you’re into punk, comics or sewing, this event is about creating and promoting a local patch, fashion and design community.
The event will have our regular selection of embroidered and silk-screened patches, enamel pins, 1″ pins, denim jacket & vests, new & vintage band shirts, studs, spikes and more. There will be sewing and ironing stations set up so you can apply your or help an older patch in need of a fix. There will also be a button making station.
There will be classic metal music by DJ Unsoundrob.
Event is kid friendly and free.
