Measuring .75” x .75”, this pin is made from hard enamel and has shiny silver polished plating. It’s available at the artist’s Etsy Store for $10.

BB-CRE.8

Star Wars/80s Movie Mash-Ups

Star Wars pin maker BB-CRE.8 adds new pins to their online store every Friday. This week, the brand takes us back to the 1980s—mashing up iconic movies with beloved characters from the SWU. Rambo plus Bobafett equals Ramboba-Fett. Conan The Barbarian meets Ben Swolo (AKA Kylo Ren) makes the ultra muscley Ben Swolo The Barbarian. C-3PO takes a job cleaning up the streets of Detroit and comes out chasing down creeps under the name C3P-Cop. And Beetlejuice merged with Darth Maul makes the obnoxious, devious demon Beetle-Maul.

The pins are each made from black nickel and hard enamel. Measurements vary between 1.5” and 2”. They’re all dual posted and come with corresponding rubber clutch-backs. Each pin is back-stamped with the artist’s brand logo. All four mash-up pins are available at the BB-CRE.8 website for $10 each.

Crumby Pins

TalkBoy

In the movie “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” Kevin McAllister used his TalkBoy, a tape recorder that allowed him to toggle between normal and slow playback, to trick hotel staff into believing that he was traveling with family instead of on his own. The TalkBoy used in the movie was apparently non-functional and came to life with a little help from movie magic. Luckily for 90s kids, some marketing genius came up with the idea to make a real one and sell it at Toys R Us. (RIP Toys R Us.) In case your TalkBoy was sold off in a garage sale (like mine likely was) or you were unsuccessful in convincing a family member to buy you one, you can have the next best thing. Crumby Pins’new TalkBoy pin measures 1.5” long, is dual posted and comes with green rubber clutches. It’s now available at the artist’s website for $10.

Meet Caitlin of For The Share of Flair

This past week, a few readers have been asking me: Who are you?

My vision for The Share of Flair is to become a trusted news source within the pin community—and that can’t happen if I don’t paint a fuller picture of who I am and what I’m about. I probably should have done this sooner—here goes.

I’m Caitlin M.F. Hornshaw. I’m 30 years old and I live in Pasadena, California, with my husband Phil and our two kitties, Kiwi and Xander. I grew up in Michigan and graduated from Central Michigan University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and an emphasis on News Editorial.
