Pinscript

M.A.S.H. Game

Remember the game of M.A.S.H? It’s that fortune-telling game kids play using just a pen and paper—and M.A.S.H. stands for Mansion, Apartment, Shack or House. You could also discover who you would marry, which city you would live in, how many kids you would have, or what kind of car you’d drive, for example.

This week, pin-maker Pinscript debuted a new pin as an homage to one of your favorite games from elementary school and junior high. It comes in four variants, each with a different letter circled M, A, S, or H. True to the spirit of the game, every pin comes in a blind bag so you won’t know which pin you’ll receive, or where you’ll end up living, until you order. Pins measure 1.25” wide, are made with hard enamel and feature screen-printed details. M.A.S.H. pins are for sale at the Pinscript website for $10 each.

Godzilla is the star of Long Island artist’s designs, collection

Godzilla has been ruining lives since the 1950s.

Over the course of 32 movies, the furious, radiation-charged monster and his Kaiju pals (and arch-enemies) have violently stomped and smashed to bits not only Tokyo, but major metropolitan areas all over the globe.

The “King of Monsters,” as he’s sometimes called, is a world-famous pop culture icon—Godzilla even has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His status might lead you to assume that finding Godzilla-themed enamel pins is a relatively easy task. But that’s not the case, says Bryan Berio, 40, a collector based out of Floral Park Long Island.

“Not that many people make Godzilla pins – or I’m just not looking in the right places,” Berio said. “I try to stay off the Bay (eBay) to look for them because I’ve seen some go for $80, and that’s just nuts for a pin.”

The pins are each made from black nickel and hard enamel. Measurements vary between 1.5” and 2”. They’re all dual posted and come with corresponding rubber clutch-backs. Each pin is back-stamped with the artist’s brand logo. All four mash-up pins are available at the BB-CRE.8 website for $10 each.
